Founded in 1974 by parents of children with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading charitable funder and advocate of diabetes research in the world. Its mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research and is one of seven affiliates around the world.

Canadian Diabetes Association
The Canadian Diabetes Association delivers education and services to people affected by diabetes and helps people with diabetes live healthy lives.  Through a community-based network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers and partners, the CDA funds leading-edge diabetes research and produce globally recognized diabetes guidelines.
